Galway Bay fm newsroom – Pat Murphy of Ardrahan has been returned as chairman of County Galway IFA
The AGM was held in the Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry last night
Pat Murphy was returned to the chair unopposed
All of the other officers were also returned unopposed apart from the office of secretary
The holder Sean Moran had concluded the 4 year term allowed so the new secretary is Micheal Haverty of Clonberne
The controversial issue of Connacht regional chair was not raised
IFA presidential election candidate Athenry’s Joe Healy spoke at the AGM
No presidential hustings are being held in the host counties of the candidates.
The three vice-presidential candidates Richard Kennedy, Pat Farrell and Nigel Reneghan addressed the gathering
