Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Irish border will be celebrated at a unique event in the city tomorrow.
‘Borderlines’ is organised by NUI Galway’s Arts in Action programme, as part of the university’s 1916 commemorative programme.
The event will feature a number of special guests and lecturers including; comedian Kevin McAleer, painter John Byrne and writer Susan McKay.
It will focus on the Irish border with the North from a variety of perspectives, and aims to create insight beyond the ‘line on the map.’
Borderlines gets underway at 7pm tomorrow in the Aula Maxima at NUI Galway.
Writer and journalist Susan McKay says the border has a rich history, but has since become invisible.
