Galway Bay fm newsroom – One candidate has dropped out of the race in Galway East – Aengus Melia of Direct Democracy Ireland has failed to hand in his nomination ahead of the deadline.
The remaining eight candidates now contesting the seat three constituency in the upcoming General Election are:

Colm Keaveney – Fianna Fail
Ciaran Cannon – Fine Gael
Paul Connaughton – Fine Gael
Ann Marie Roche – Sinn Fein
Lorraine Higgins – Labour
Michael Fahy – Non-Party
Sean Canney – Non-Party
