Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway City and County saw some of the biggest increases in the country for property prices last year.
According to a new survey by the Irish Independent, house prices in the county are up by 18% – the second highest increase in the country.
Meanwhile, prices in the city have risen by 10% where the average home costs in the region of 220 thousand euro.
The report’s authors says the Salthill area is increasingly popular among buyers who wish to enter the luxury home market – and says this is a sign that the city economy is on the up.

He says due to strong economic growth, prices in Galway city are likely to continue to rise – along with rents.
