Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Sports Minister is being urged to provide funding for the development of hurling alleys across the county.
Senator Lorraine Higgins says that hand ball alleys are being used by hurling and camogie players in every corner of Galway to develop their skills.
She says that many other counties boast a number of dedicated hurling alleys, and Galway should be no different.
The Labour Senator is calling on Minister Pascal Donohue to make available a grant to provide for the construction of the facilities.
Senator Higgins says the benefits to the players, the county and the game would be immense.
