Galway Bay fm newsroom – The 52 year old man who died in a crash on the N17 last night has been named locally as Michael Monaghan from Kilchreest, Loughrea
His motorcycle was involved in a collision with a car near McHugh’s pub at around 9.45pm.
Mr Monaghan is married, with a family
The driver of the car, who was from the area, did not suffer any injuries.
The section of the N17 involved was closed until shortly after midday today as Gardai conducted a forensic examination of the scene.
