Galway Bay fm newsroom – NUI Galway ranks lowest in terms of promoting women according to a new table ranking Irish universities for promoting women to senior posts.
The table is compiled by female academics including Dr. Micheline Sheehy Skeffington, who won an equality case against NUIG.
She will present the table at a conference on Gender Equality taking place at NUIG today.
It shows that Limerick fared best in the rankings, with 33 per cent of women promoted to senior posts, compared to 21 per cent in Galway.
The day-long conference gets underway at the Hardiman and Arts Millenium Buildings at NUIG around now.
Dr. Sheehy Skeffington says promotion for women at all universities is still too low.
