Galway Bay fm newsroom – SSE Airtricity says a new report on a major windfarm near Roscahill will highlight the benefits of the development to the local community.
Cathaoirleach of the Connemara district, Councillor Noel Thomas is launching the sustainability impact report on the development at the Forge in Moycullen this morning
Galway Wind Park is based at Doon East near Roscahill.
Locals are concerned that the development is having a major impact on their health due to dust and noise from increased traffic.
There will be a drop-in community event at The Forge from 12.30 to 2pm, to allow the public to view the document.
SSE Airtricity spokesperson Catherine Hannon says they have made efforts to work with local businesses, as well as funding a number of community initiatives.
Galway Senator Trevor O’Clochartaigh says despite a meeting with SSE Airtricity last evening, locals still have a number of concerns.
