Galway Bay fm newsroom – There are calls for the government to reinstate a social welfare inspector in Tuam.
The post has been vacant for almost four years.
Galway Roscommon TD Eugene Murphy says as a result, jobseekers are forced to turn to charity to get by, due to delays in the processing of applications.
He says he’s raised the matter with Social Protection Minister Leo Varadkar in the hope of having an inspector reinstated.
