Galway TD concerned over time limits on Rural Social Scheme

Galway Bay Fm newsroom-A Galway West TD says new limits on the Rural Social Scheme would penalise small farmers across the county.
Fianna Fáil deputy Éamon Ó Cuív is calling on the Minister for Social Protection to reverse his decision to limit new contracts under the Rural Social Scheme to three years.
He says the scheme was set up to provide off-farm income and employment to low-income farmers, which would help them supplement their household earnings as well as delivering high quality services within local communities.
Deputy O’Cuiv says imposing a time limit on the scheme would plunge families back into financial difficulty.
