Higher planning authority to consider pre-application for deep water quay at Rossaveel

Galway Bay fm newsroom – There are plans to build a new deep water quay at Rossaveel.
The Department of Food, Agriculture and Marine has lodged a pre-application consultation with An Bord Pleanála.
This sets out to determine whether the project would be considered to be strategic infrastructure.
If so, a planning application must be directed to An Bord Pleanála.
If it is not deemed to be strategic infrastructure development, the application must be made to the local authority.
A preliminary meeting is scheduled to take place this month (Nov) between an Bord Pleanála and the applicant to gather initial information.
An Bord Pleanála has set an estimated target date for decision on the pre-application of February next year.
