Planning application lodged for new secondary school building in Athenry

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A planning application has been lodged for a new building for Presentation College in Athenry.
The application for a 1,000 pupil school is part of an overall plan by the Department of Education to relocate four schools in Athenry town.
The new building will be located on a site already owned by the school, across from the Raheen Woods Hotel.
The Department of Education is also planning to build a new school for Clarin College, and a new Gaelcampus on the existing Clarin College site.
The Gaelcampus would see Gaelscoil an Eachreidh and Gaelscoil Riada located at the same site.
