GMIT to host environmental awareness event

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A green campus and energy awareness day will take place in the city tomorrow. (Tues 4/10)
The event is being hosted by GMIT as part of its Students Engagement Programme.
The open day, which is open to the public, is part of the college’s effort to acheive Green Flag status for its Dublin Road and Monivea Road campuses.
It’s the first in a series of events which will take palce over the coming months to engage with staff, students and local communities on a number of environmental issues.
The public open day gets underway at GMIT’s Dublin Road campus at 10 tomorrow morning.
Dr John Lohan says the college wants to engage with the community to help the environment.
