Galway Bay fm news has been nominated for a national radio award for a political feature on the evening talk programme FYI Galway.
The news team has been shortlisted in the Innovation category at the PPI annual awards for our Election 2016 Quickfire Challenge.
The challenge saw Galway’s general election candidates answer a series of quickfire questions, with no option to pass.
The aim of the feature was to help our listeners get to know ‘the person behind the poster.’
Galway Bay fm news faces stiff competition from RTÉ Radio 1, Newstalk, Classic Hits 4FM and Radio Kerry for the Innovation title.
The PPI awards are the Oscars of the radio industry and this year the gala event will be held in Kilkenny in October.
