Galway Bay fm newsroom – A public consultation meeting on flood mitigation proposals for Portumna will take place in the coming weeks.
The meeting is part of the Shannon CFRAM study, and will discuss plans for flood mitigation measures in the town.
Loughrea area councillor Jimmy McClearn says a flood gate is needed at Connacht Harbour to prevent future flooding at Bridge Road in the town.
The public consultation will take place at Portumna Retirement Village on Thursday the 15th of September.
Councillor McClearn says it’s important that locals attend to have their say on the plans for the town.
