Galway Bay fm newsroom – Thousands of people are expected to attend Heritage Week events across the city and county from today.
The festivities will see towns and villages across Galway host over 90 themed events, celebrating the heritage of their local areas.
This year’s highlights include the Loughrea Medieval Festival, woodland walks, drama and musical performaces at Portumna Castle and Coole Park.
National Heritage Week is coordinated by The Heritage Council aims to build awareness and education about Irish heritage while encouraging conservation.
