South Galway set to benefit from Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The South Galway region is gearing up for a major influx of visitors ahead of Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann, which gets underway in Ennis on Sunday week.
Over 400 thousand people are exptected to attend the festival – which takes place just 20 minutes from Gort town.
Loughrea area councillor Joe Byrne says the major event is a perfect opportunity to highlight the many visitor attractions in South Galway.
He says the Burren Lowlands Tourist Office has noticed a marked increase in enquiries during this period for accommodation in the Gort and South Galway area.
Councillor Byrne says the week of the Fleadh could be used to significantly boost business in the entire South Galway region.
