Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Government is being urged to deliver on a vital tourism project that could be East Galway’s answer to the ‘Wild Atlantic Way’.
Deputy Anne Rabbitte says the ‘Ireland’s Lakelands’ initiative was included in the Programme for Government – but little has happened since.
She says the project aims to increase tourism along the River Shannon and surrounding areas, including East Galway, Roscommon, Longford, and Tipperary.
The Fianna Fail Deputy says it would play a vital role in revitalising the local economy – but progress on the initiative to date has been lacklustre.
Deputy Rabbitte says East Galway cannot afford to see the project remain in limbo.
