Galway Bay fm newsroom – The deadline has been extended for public submissions on the Galway Bay energy test site following local representations.
The site was established off the Galway coast in 2006, and aims to determine the effectiveness of wave-energy technologies.
At a public meeting in Furbo in recent weeks, three TDs and a Senator agreed that an extension of time was essential to allow for meaningful consultation.
Gaeltacht Minister and Galway West TD Sean Kyne says the public notice period has been extended until September 9th.
25 submissions have been received to date.
Minister Kyne told Keith Finnegan this will be the last such extension.
