Man who died in Killimor crash named locally

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The man who died following a serious road crash in Killimor yesterday has been named locally as Tony Rice.
Mr. Rice was well known in music circles as the drummer for one of the country’s most popular bands Big Generator.
Tony Rice was seriously injured when his car collided with a concrete barrier in the Coolagh area around 2am yesterday.
Mr. Rice, who was 26 years of age and from the Woodford area, was taken to University Hospital Galway with life threatening head injuries.
He passed away at the hospital yesterday afternoon.
Mr. Rice was the drummer for one of the country’s most popular bands Big Generator.
It’s been a difficult week on Galway roads, and on the roads across the country.
Tina Kelly, who was in her 30s, and her 14 year son Joey from the Doranstown area died when their car hit a tree at Ballaghlea shortly before 10pm on Sunday.
