Galway Bay fm newsroom – A city councillor is describing a planned social housing development at Ballymoneen road as a ‘total farce’.
Councillor Mike Cubbard says the primary phase of the project to deliver 69 houses has been scrapped – and just 14 units are likely to be completed by 2018.
He says the situation stems from a Department decision that several more houses could fit at the site – meaning the whole process now has to start from scratch.
The Independent Councillor says with five thousand people on the waiting list for a home, the handling of the long-awaited project is unacceptable.
Councillor Cubbard says the situation is nothing short of a total farce.
