Galway Bay fm newsroom – There is no set plan as yet to tackle road safety in the Oranmore-Athenry Municipal District.
It follows a meeting between council officials and local representatives today. (21/7)
The meeting was organised following concerns in recent weeks over the condition of roads in the district.
The council executive was being urged to set out a strategic policy to focus on ‘rat-runs’, hedge cutting and health and safety issues.
Director of Services with the County Council, Peter Gavican says they developed a basis for a strategy at today’s meeting but will have to meet again.
He says it was a broad discussion about various aspects.
