Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway has been highlighted as one of the key areas where the government has set an objective to balance housing demand and supply.
It’s part of the Government’s 84 point action plan to deal with the housing crisis.
The plan encompasses five pillars – to address homelessness; accelerate social housing; build more homes; improve the rental sector and utilise existing housing.
The 5.35 billion euro plan says 47-thousand social houses will be delivered in six years.
A central focus will involve balancing demand and supply in Dublin, Galway, Cork, Limerick and Waterford.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny says the government is committed to dealing with the housing crisis.
