Galway Bay fm newsroom – County officials are being urged to push ahead with the city outer bypass for the future prosperity of Galway.
Loughrea area independent councillor Michael Fahy raised the need for the long sought after infrastructure at this week’s council meeting at County Hall.
He was advised that work is ongoing on the city ring road in relation to the completion of statutory documentation for planning consent and CPO.
This documentation is due to be ready for publication by the end of the year.
Last year, the draft Route Selection Report for the N6 Galway City Transport Project was published, and represented the half-way mark in the process.
Councillor Fahy says a fast-tracking process must be found.
He says it could make the city and county the new capitals of industry following our 2020 success.
