Galway Bay fm newsroom – A big screen will be set up in the city tomorrow afternoon to show the announcement of the European Capital of Culture 2020 winner.
Galway is facing competition from Limerick, and the Three Sisters – Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford.
A ten member group from Galway made a final presentation to a panel of European judges in Dublin today.
The bid book was presented in detail to the judges – and is now available to the public at galway2020.ie.
The winner of the prestigious 2020 title will be announced at the National Concert Hall in Dublin shortly before 1 tomorrow afternoon.
A big screen will be set up at Mainguard Street to live stream the result from noon.
The announcement will also be broadcast live on Galway Bay fm.
Programme Development officer with the 2020 team, Marilyn Gaughan, says Galway’s in with a good shot.
