Galway Bay fm newsroom – Just two Galway applications have been submitted for a residential tax incentive scheme to encourage regeneration of historic city centres.
Finance Minister Michael Noonan launched the Living City initiative in 2013 but it did not come into effect until last year.
It had been designed to encourage families to live in historic buildings in city centres such as Galway, Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Dublin and Kilkenny.
According to the Irish Times, only 33 applications were received nationwide.
Two Galway applications were received for residential development under the scheme.
The details were revealed following a parliamentary question raised by Waterford Fine Gael TD John Deasy.
