Galway Bay fm newsroom – Contractors have until tomorrow (Friday 3/6) to register their interest in providing an air service to the Aran Islands.
A new tender for the service was advertised in April, after the previous tender was withdrawn over local concerns.
Islanders remain worried about the latest tender.
One of their primary grievances is what they claim is a continued leaning towards a helicopter service.
However, a statement issued by the Department of the Gaeltacht says that such comments are completely inaccurate.
It adds that EU law strictly prohibits the favouring of a particular aircraft or service provider.
The deadline for tenders for the service is 12pm tomorrow.
