Galway Bay fm newsroom – A consultant is expected to be appointed shortly to carry out a feasibility study at the Leisureland funfair site in Salthill.
Five consultancy groups have expressed an interest in carrying out the study.
Galway City Council is hoping to identify potential opportunities for the development of the leisure complex and in particular, the grounds adjacent to the facility.
Currently, the land next to Leisureland is only used for four months of the year – when it accommodates a summer funfair.
Galway City Council says a preferred consultant is now being considered for appointment.
