Galway Bay fm newsroom – An open day will take place at a windfarm in Barna tomorrow to mark Global Wind Day. (Friday 3/6)
The event will offer visitors an opportunity to experience wind energy development first-hand, and learn more about the benefits of renewable energy.
The activities will be based at Leitir Gungaid windfarm and will include walk and talk tours of the farm and its turbines.
The open day takes place tomorrow from 10am until 2pm.
Brian Dawson is Head of Communications with the Irish Wind Energy Association – he says Galway has a lot to offer the wind energy sector.
