Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway West TD Noel Grealish has this afternoon addressed the oral hearing on Apple’s plans for a data centre in Athenry.
The Independent deputy says the facility will bring a welcome boost to employment in the immediate area, and the Galway region in general.
Addressing An Bord Pleanala inspector Stephen Kay, he said the region has been badly hit by emigration, and eight out of ten members of his own family have emigrated over the years.
Deputy Grealish says if Apple gets the go-ahead, it won’t go unnoticed by other big international players, and families will no longer have to look to Australia, Canada and the USA.
