Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Communications Minister, Galway Roscommon TD Denis Naughten, has promised to boost internet services to rural Ireland in the short term – by improving the 4g mobile signal.
Minister Naughten says contracts to roll out a comprehensive national broadband service, will be signed with a new operator by June 2017.
The Independent Minister will oversee the implementation of the plan along with Minister for rural affairs, Heather Humphreys.
In the meantime – Dennis Naughten says there is plenty his officials will be doing to help rural Ireland get online.
