Galway Bay Fm newsroom-Garda investigations are continuing into an alleged assault on a young man in Tuam in the early hours of today.
The alleged attack is said to have taken place at Dublin Road near the entrace to the Mercy Convent Schools at approximately 5.50 am today.
The injured youth was taken to University College Hospital A&E Department where he was treated for his injuries and later discharged.
It is alleged that the perpetrator on the assault escaped from the scene across the Mercy Convent grounds in the direction of Tuam Cathedral. As yet no arrests have been made.
Tuam Gardai are seeking witnesses from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Dublin Road area near the main entrance to the Mercy Convent schools between 5.45 and 6.15 today.
