Galway Bay fm newsroom – The closure of the car park at the marina in Portumna over this coming bank holiday weekend is being questioned.
Deputy Anne Rabbitte says the car park has been blocked off for health and safety reasons as works on upgrading the toilet block continue.
However, Deputy Rabbitte is questioning why the county council chose a busy bank holiday weekend to close the car park without any consultation with local businesses.
Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, Deputy Rabbitte says tourism is Portumna’s ‘bread and butter’ and needs to be protected.
