Galway Bay fm newsroom – An event supporting the implementation of adoption as a care option for children who are in care is taking place at NUI Galway later today.
The event is jointly organised by the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre at NUI Galway and the School of Applied Social Studies at University College Cork.
It aims to look at the potential for using adoption for children who are going to be in long-term care.
The seminar takes place today from 11 to 3 in the Lifecourse Institute, Dangan.
Professor for Social Work Caroline McGregor says the seminar will highlight the local issues around the possible development of policy in this area.
