Galway Bay fm newsroom – A boil water notice has been issued for Ahascragh and the surrounding area.
There’s been disruption to the water supply in the area in recent days, due to a problem at the Ahascragh Water Treatment Plant.
Crews are currently working to restore supply, but Irish Water says that due to ‘technical difficulties,’ a precautionary boil notice has been put in place.
Currently, there are boil water notices in place in several areas across the county including Loughrea, Kilconnell, Leenane, Williamstown, and Ahascragh – and thousands of people are affected.
Residents in affected areas are advised to boil their water for drinking, food preparation, brushing of teeth and the making of ice until further notice.
