Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Galway Anti Racism Network will be launched in the city next week.
The network aims to unite the different cultural, ethnic and community groups in Galway under the principles of solidarity and equality.
The launch will include representatives and speakers from the Muslim, African and Roma communities, Galway Traveller Movement and asylum seeker advocate organisations.
The group is also seeking support for a petition calling for the introduction of hate crime legislation in Ireland.
The launch of the Galway Anti Racism Network will take place at the Galway Rowing Club on Thursday next, the 7th of April at 7pm.
Organiser Joe Loughnane says Galway is a welcoming place, but issues do remain.
